High Temperature Dropping Point Apparatus.

As per ASTM D2265

The equipment is used for higher temperature grease testing than the ASTM D566 method. The different heating procedure is used as compared with ASTM D566.

The testing cell is inserted in an oven made with aluminum block maintained at a constant temperature that is higher than the expected dropping point of the sample. The sample temperature then rises to the dropping point without operator control.

Drop Point of Grease TesterAs per ASTM D566 , IP 132
The drop point tester is used for determination of the dropping point of lubricating grease. The dropping point is an indication of the heat resistance of the grease and is the highest temperature at which it passes from a semi-solid to a liquid state under specific test conditions.
The Drop point tester is made of SS 304. The electrical heaters are provided with temperature control and motorized stirrer. The equipment is supplied with sample tube, cup ,heating liquid bath and glass thermometer.

Thermostatic dome shaped model. Thermostatically controlled within built microprocessor digital temperature indicator cum controller with timer. Made from Imported 6 mm thick Perspex sheet. Supplied with suitable tray, Nozzle & Hanging arrangement  (without compressor)

Open Kettle Grease Making Bath :

Construction : Outer and inner cylindrical kettle made with stainless steel having 5 Kg  capacity for grease. 

Heating System : Air heater fitted to help achieve above ambient temperature. Heaters are inter-connected to the PID output. Heater wiring is done using PTFE coated cables.

Stirring System :Heavy duty three phase gear motor 300 rpm. with speed regulator drive system.

Temperature Controller and Instrumentation:Fully automatic microprocessor based PID controller having feather touch key board. Display indicating temperature with resolution of 0.1 Celsius. The controller is having splash proof membrane with pt-100 sensor.

Emcor Rust Test Machine As per IP 220, DIN 51802. Emcor Rust Test is grease testing machine. It is used to measure the rust preventive capability of Grease.

Salient Features:

• It measures the ability of a grease to protect a bearing against rusting / corrosion in the presence of water. 

• The sets of  bearings  coated with grease per station are partially immersed in water. The bearing sets are rotated at a speed of 80 rpm.At end of the test the bearing outer rings are inspected for rust.

• The equipment can be used for both standing and dynamic test of lubricating grease.

• The equipment has Test rig with base plate, electric motor with gear and timer, shaft, plummer blocks, self-aligning ball bearings, adapter sleeves, sleeve nuts and V-ring seals.

Grease Kettle with Stirring System under Vacuum
This equipment is used for making Grease in laboratory for Research and Development.  
CONSTRUCTION :Cylindrical Body or  Kettle made with Double walled construction. Inner and outer body is made with stainless steel 304 , 6 mm thick flasks provided with heating dry bath made from aluminium casting.

Roll Stability Tester as per ASTM D 1831.

Salient Features:

• Single and dual speed.

• This test is intended to subject lubricating greases to such a shear stresses as are typical of ball and roller bearings.

• A sample of the lubricating grease under evaluation is worked by rollers rotating in cylinders at a specified temperature and the penetration characteristics of the sample before and after rolling compared in a penetration test in compliance with standard.

• 2/4 corrosion proof stainless steel roll test cylinders with stainless steel roller.

Mechanical Grease Worker 
As per ASTM D217, D4950 , DIN 51804 , IP 50 , ISO 2137

Mechanical Grease Worker is used for worked penetration and prolonged worked penetration test for determination of consistency of lubricating grease.  It consist of dual ASTM grease worker which is mounted on a sturdy base and driven by a powerful gear reduction motor. It meets ASTM specifications for stroke length and rate. Grease Worker is equipped with a presetting electronic counter that automatically shuts off the drive motor after any desired number of strokes up to 1000000. Grease workers have threaded cup and cover, and steel plunger plate with shaft and handle that connects to eccentric cam on drive unit.

Leakage Tendenciesof wheel Bearing Grease. As per ASTM D 1263

Features:

• Evaluates the tendency of automotive wheel bearing grease to separate oil or grease under prescribed laboratory conditions. The test is performed at elevated temperature in a modified automotive spindle-hub assembly rotated at 660 rpm. Any leakage of oil or grease during the test period is collected and weighed.

WATER SPRAY OFF TESTER

As per ASTM D4049

Water spray off tester evaluates the ability of a lubricating grease to adhere to a metal surface when subjected to a direct water spray under controlled conditions. The percentage of grease sprayed off a stainless steel test panel after a specified period is determined by weight.

 - It Conforms to ASTM D4049 specifications

The equipment including spray chamber, delivery system and constant temperature reservoir. It Sprays water at the specified rate and temperature on a test panel coated with sample grease.

To test for water spray resistance, fill reservoir with 8L of tap water and set the temperature comtroller  at test temperature. Circulate the water through the system to attain temperature equilibrium and insert the coated test panel in the spray chamber. Adjust water spray to 40psi (276kPa) and continue for 5 minutes.

Water spray system includes 1.3hp positive displacement pump; spray nozzle with snubber fitting: 0-60psi pressure gauge; bypass valve; shut-off and drain valves; and flexible high pressure water lines. Hinged acrylic spray chamber cover is recessed into the chamber housing to insure watertight operation.  Standardized grease application fixture coats test panel with the required thickness of sample grease. Uses tap water; does not require water hook-up.
